Florida Veteran Receives Support Navigating Disability and PACT Act Process

In the tangled web of veteran benefits, there are often hidden pathways for support that many may never uncover on their own. This was the case for Nick Molina*, a Marine veteran who turned to Panhandle Warrior Partnership (PWP) for assistance getting his disability rating increased.

Mr. Molina served in the Marine Corps from 2005-2012 and, before he reached out to PWP, was at a 90% disability rating. In the past, Molina worked with a company to get his initial VA disability rating increased from 10%, but it cost him $4k for their services. He did not have the money to utilize this company again, but he knew he needed his rating increased to 100%. This was when a fellow veteran referred him to PWP. Once in contact, the PWP Case Coordinator hopped on a three-way call with Mr. Molina and a local VFW representative who often partners with PWP to assist veterans with disability claims. After introducing the two, Mr. Molina was given instructions by the VFW rep to begin the claim process. He also learned that he qualified for a PACT Act claim, and the rep helped complete this claim as well.

Thanks to PWP, Mr. Molina was able to file both a disability and PACT Act claim at no cost. He was incredibly relieved at how easy this process was and stated that he was “happy to come across an organization like PWP.”
